Project Update: Dunes House Lane and Parking Redevelopment

The Dunes House Lane and Parking Redevelopment construction project is tentatively scheduled to commence on December 4th, and we anticipate the project to last approximately 90 days. This project’s scope will include the reconfiguration and repaving of Dune House Lane to improve pedestrian safety and allow for improved traffic flow. Additionally, the existing parking areas will be reconfigured to enhance the delineation of parking spaces. Special parking accommodations will be made for disabled users, bicycles, and the Dunes Buggy. Overall, the redevelopment will help reduce congestion for residents and visitors who enjoy this amenity. This project will also improve accessibility for emergency vehicles, as the Dunes House beach walk is a critical access point for emergency responders.

Per a recent announcement from Greenwood, the Dunes House will close for seasonal maintenance as well as preparation for the parking lot project on Sunday, November 30.

Moorings and Beach Villas residents and guests will have access to their respective parking areas throughout the construction project. Additionally, beach access will remain open throughout the duration of the project, although the pathway (starting at Mooring Buoy) will be demolished, widened, and reconfigured to improve accessibility during the first few weeks of the project. We suggest owners and visitors utilize adjacent beach access points during this time. Otherwise, all pedestrians will need to utilize the parking lot for Dunes House beach access until the pathway work is completed. Once pathway construction is completed, it will be reopened for pedestrian beach access.

Despite the open accessibility for residents and visitors, ingress and egress to the communities and the beach access may sometimes be challenging. This may include minor delays while the contractor performs critical work, such as asphalt paving and concrete pouring. If your property is on the rental market, please notify guests that they may experience minor delays entering and exiting your property during the construction phase.  Please note that this redevelopment will be under construction within the timeframe of the Mooring Buoy Redevelopment Project, and there may be an increase in traffic congestion in the area due to the overlap.
