BIKE SAFETY

BIKING IN PALMETTO DUNES

Several miles of leisure paths are available in Palmetto Dunes. When a leisure path is available it should be used by cyclists, joggers, walkers, etc. Anyone utilizing leisure paths or streets for recreational use is urged to use extreme caution at all times, especially during the peak visitor seasons. On streets, cyclists ride with traffic, single file, near the shoulder. All other recreational uses of roadways are done with the individual facing traffic.

Individuals making use of the Queen’s Folly leisure path who wish to go to Shelter Cove Harbour must use the pedestrian foot bridge under the William Hilton Parkway (Hwy 278) across Broad Creek. For safety reasons, please do not attempt to cross the highway at the traffic light.

Please use caution when biking to keep Palmetto Dunes safe for residents and visitors to enjoy.
