Domestic Help is defined as someone who provides inside cleaning of a home. Often referred to as housekeeping, domestic help may be engaged in activities such as cooking, ironing, cleaning laundry, etc. It does not include services such as lawn care, plumbing, home remodeling, pool servicing, HVAC servicing, delivery of goods, or other similar services.

Domestic helpers who service more than two properties in Palmetto Dunes or Leamington are not eligible for courtesy domestic passes.

Domestic helpers who own or are employed by a company are not eligible for courtesy domestic passes.

Property owners must submit application (Form DO-201) to the pass office requesting a courtesy domestic pass. Only the person named on the application will be granted the pass. Applications will generally be reviewed within 5 business days and notification of approval / denial will be made to the property owner via telephone, mail, email, fax, or a combination of these delivery methods.

Applications are valid for one calendar year and must be resubmitted by January 15 of each year. Failure to do so may result in the domestic helper being denied access.

Courtesy domestic passes are only valid M-F, from 7am-7pm. They are not valid on Saturdays, Sundays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Easter, MLK, Jr Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day.

Courtesy domestic helper passes shall not be used to conduct business activities, use plantation amenities, fish in lagoons, use beach facilities, or travel to any other locations in Palmetto Dunes other than the preapproved location.

Violations of this policy may result in fines being assessed to the domestic worker and/or property owner.  Additionally, suspension of this complimentary service may be imposed to the domestic worker and/or property owner.

Domestic helpers are subject to all other applicable rules and regulations within Palmetto Dunes. It is the sole responsibility of the domestic helper and property owner to ensure that all rules are read, understood, and adhered to.

Any exceptions to this policy must be approved in advance by the Pass Office. Such requests will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, with exceptions (if any) notated on the application. Please contact the Pass Office at (843) 785-1125 to make such requests.
