North Gate Barrier Gate Arm

A barrier gate arm has been installed on the outbound lane at the North Gate. This project was initiated at the recommendation of a board member, approved by the Board of Directors, and included in the 2023 Capital Budget.

The goal of the barrier gate arm is to:

• Reduce the speed of vehicles as they exit the North Gate, thus improving the safety of pedestrians who walk/bike adjacent to the roadway,
• Capture better video of motorists as they pass through the gate, and
• Serve as a deterrent to persons who may commit crimes.

The barrier gate arm will remain in the “up position” during daytime hours to allow motorists the opportunity to recognize that an arm has been installed. Prior to activating the arm, the Association will make notification via the Tidings and will place appropriate signage near the North Gate to warn motorists of the active barrier gate arm.

The Board also approved a similar barrier gate arm to be installed at the South Gate outbound lane in early 2024.
