Forming the 2024 Nominating Committee
Every year the Nominating Committee encourages owners to consider their candidacy for the board, meets with candidates to discuss their experiences and perspectives and recommends candidates to fill the available board seats (typically three).
As prescribed in the Association’s Bylawas, the Nominating Committee is comprised of five members—the Nominating Committee Chair, one current Director and three owners who are not Board Directors. Interested owners are invited to apply to join the Nominating Committee. As a member of the Nominating Committee, you will help recruit, interview and recommend candidates for the Board.
If you have ever considered joining a committee in the past, this might be the ideal opportunity for you. It is an important, hands-on role which requires a fair amount of your time spread over several months. Members of the Nominating Committee are required to:
- Be a current owner in good standing (no outstanding payments, fines or violations) with the POA
- Have an eye for talent
- Not seek to join the 2024-2025 board yourself (via the nominating or petition process)
- Have a passion for Palmetto Dunes
If you would like to be considered for the Nominating Committee, please send an email to kfaires@chamblisslaw.com by February 1, 2024. The goal is to select and announce three committee members no later than March 1, 2024. Then the work of recruiting and meeting with board candidates begins with a goal to recommend nominees by July, 2024.
The nominated candidates will appear on the 2024 ballot alongside any others who may choose the petition process.
