The PDPOA re-launched our nest camera live stream in March 2019 when Oprah and Oscar returned. Oprah laid three eggs in the nest and kept constant watch of them while Oscar brought her fish for her meals.
Oprah and Oscar’s first chicks – Ozzy and Opal, hatched on April 26, 2019. The third, Olive, hatched on April 30, 2019. Oprah and Oscar caught fish all day and brought them back to the nest to feed the babies. By mid-June, the babies had almost become as big as the parents and started spreading their wings and getting a little air underneath them.
Be sure your volume is up as you’ll now be able to hear these talkative birds. We’re thrilled to be able to share this unique opportunity to view our avian residents up close, and to learn more about these magnificent raptors. You can see our Osprey at pdpoa.live or perched above the water tower as you enter Palmetto Dunes.
