Meet the Owners: Larry and Lucie Mann, 3 Promontory Ct.
Larry and Lucie Mann, 3 Promontory Ct.
“Our home backs up to the “dreaded 17th hole” of the Fazio Course – Very few balls make it across the lagoon successfully, so the drop area gets a lot of use!“
The Manns thoroughly enjoy their evenings on the rear porches where the green and the lagoon provide them with a rather expansive view, of gorgeous sunsets and golfers struggling to make par!
PD has been a true sanctuary for them from their otherwise hectic lives. For the past 5 years, our neighbors on Promontory Ct. have put together neighborhood parties and other social gatherings. It has helped to bring a true sense of community into our neighborhood.
History
Larry was a general contractor in Nashville, before building and moving to the Island (full-time) in 1996. Lucie moved to the Island, from Canada, in 1983. She has worked primarily in architecture the entire time.
Larry, part time in PD, built his first home in 1991. Since 1991 Larry has built over 70 custom homes in Palmetto Dunes and Leamington; many of which were designed by Lucie. In 1994 Larry acquired the lot, on Promontory Ct., completing the new build in 1996 and has lived there full-time ever since.
Larry and Lucie met in 1998. Lucie was working at a local architectural firm as a custom home designer later appointed to design Larry’s custom home projects. The rest is history… they married on Nov 25, 2006.
The Manns have 3 sons (Justin lives in Charlotte, Zachary in Bluffton, and Jean-Luc Brooklyn) and 3 grandchildren (Noah, Justin, and Kaylen). Their pooches Antoinette and Abilene recently passed.
Local Business Leaders
It’s so exciting to have local businesspeople live in our PD community.
The Manns now own and actively operate two businesses on the Island:
Park Plaza Cinema – Purchased in 2010 when the construction and architecture industry was struggling through the 2008/09 recession. They became involved in the movie theater industry, on a national level. Frequent trips to industry conferences keep them innovative. Offering CineCafe a true full menu “dine-in” experience at your seat. The first local movie theater to acquire a beer and wine permit. And, you can bring the dog! “Antoinette, our little pooch, was the official “greeter” at the theater.”
Southern Heritage Homes,
The couple travels regularly but loves returning to their beloved PD.
