Did you know… that Hilton Head has a professional symphony orchestra? The Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra has been a centerpiece of the Lowcountry’s vibrant musical scene for over four decades.
has 100 musicians under contract as well as world-renowned soloists appearing at many concerts. Under the leadership of the Music Director and Conductor, John Morris Russell, the orchestra is satisfying its diverse audience with Classical Music, Pops, and Jazz. With widespread financial support and many hours of volunteer time, the HHSO has attracted thousands of devoted followers.
In addition to the Orchestra Series Concerts that are presented October through April, the Symphony also provides a free Symphony Under the Stars series, a free Jazz in the Park series, and the annual Hilton Head International Piano Competition. Also, their Soundwaves venue hosts Coastal Home Supper Club events and the Gullah Cultural Series.
The 2024-2025 season will be announced soon with the opportunity to purchase a variety of subscription offerings as well as individual tickets.
