Hilton Head Choral Society (HHCS)
Did You Know that Hilton Head has a Choral Society? Come to one of their concerts and see why the Hilton Head Choral Society (HHCS) is the longest-running performing arts organization in the community and continues to receive rave reviews. Founded in 1975, the Choral Society is a non-profit organization with an open membership for those who love to sing and enjoy good fellowship.
Kick off the holiday season with an evening of holiday music Friday, December 13th at their “A Night Divine” concert with 70 voices, orchestra and special guest singers from Colleton County High School Chorus. It will be a great way to spend an evening with family and friends and get into the spirit of the season.
HHCS’s repertoire includes major classical and contemporary works, as well as seasonal favorites. The ensemble presents four major concerts per season – a Fall Pops Concert, a Christmas Concert, a Masterworks/Classics Concert, and a Memorial Day concert honoring America and our Armed Forces with patriotic music. A typical performance may total over 150 singers and musicians, performed for audiences up to 900 strong! Performance pieces range from Opera to Broadway, Classical to Pops, as well as commissioned works by world class composers. Concerts are held at the First Presbyterian Church and Holy Family Catholic Church. Both places have amazing acoustics, and are beautiful concert venues.
