Update: Election of Director at Annual Meeting

We would like to inform you of an important update regarding the upcoming 2024 Annual Meeting and the election of a new Board director.

Board Secretary Vacancy
Chad Terefenko, our board secretary, has resigned from his position as secretary and board member since he is selling his home in Palmetto Dunes. At the September Board meeting, the Board elected Jerry Durkin, a current Board member, to fill the role of Secretary until new officers are elected at the October Board meeting.

According to the Association’s Bylaws, if a Board vacancy occurs and the remaining unexpired term exceeds one year, the position must be filled by a vote of the Membership at the next Annual Meeting.

Election of a New Director
At the Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 12, the Membership will vote to elect a new director to fill the vacancy.

Here’s how the process will work:

• Nominations for the open director position will be taken from the floor during the meeting. Both in-person and online attendees will have the opportunity to nominate themselves or another property owner.
• Once nominations close, attendees will cast their votes for the new director.
  • In-person attendees will vote electronically on their phone or by paper ballot.
  • Online attendees will receive an electronic ballot on the screen.

Please note, if you have submitted a proxy, your proxy holder will vote on your behalf unless you revoke the proxy. You can revoke it at the beginning of the Annual Meeting, whether attending in person or participating online, if you wish to vote for the new director yourself.
