PDPOA Expands Environmental Commitment Through Adopt-A-Highway Partnership
The Palmetto Dunes Property Owners Association (PDPOA) is proud to announce its participation in the Beaufort County Adopt-A-Highway Program, the first property owners’ association on Hilton Head Island to do so, reinforcing its civic leadership and ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and community pride.
Through this initiative, PDPOA staff and volunteers will take an active role in maintaining a designated portion of William Hilton Parkway fronting Palmetto Dunes and Shelter Cove by conducting routine litter removal and beautification efforts. This partnership supports Beaufort County’s broader mission of preserving the natural beauty of the Lowcountry while fostering a shared sense of responsibility among residents, businesses, and visitors.
“Palmetto Dunes has always taken pride in being a community that values both its natural environment and the experience of those who live, work, and play here,” said Bill Dix, General Manager of PDPOA. “Participating in the Adopt-A-Highway program is a natural extension of our mission to enhance quality of life and protect the resources that make our community so special.”
Participation in the program also provides an opportunity for staff engagement and community involvement. This effort complements other ongoing PDPOA environmental initiatives, including lagoon health management, wildlife awareness, and sustainability-focused operational practices.
