PD Dunes Buggy Updates for 2026: VIP Reservations and STR Fees
In conjunction with approval of the 2026 operating budget, the BOD reaffirmed that the PD Dunes Buggy is a community amenity available to all PD homeowners and their guests. This includes STR homeowners and their STR guests. The costs of operating PD Dunes Buggy are subsidized by multiple community corporate partners.
Riders should provide their community address in order to enjoy transportation within PD, Leamington, and Shelter Cove. Effective June 1st, PD homeowners will have VIP access to reserve Dunes Buggy transportation 24 hours in advance. This VIP access is for PD homeowners, their family, and their personal guests only. It is NOT available to STR guests. PD homeowners can use the Dunes Buggy app to create a personal login (one per homeowner address) to enjoy this VIP advance registration access.
New to 2026, PD STR homeowners will be invoiced for a STR administrative fee of $150.00. This administration fee will be directly invoiced to the PD homeowner Appfolio account and can be paid through your Appfolio portal similar to your annual homeowner assessment. The fee is annual (January 1 through December 31) and transfers with the property. For example, if you sell your home and have paid the annual STR administrative fee, the new homeowner will not be invoiced. There will be no refunds or prorated billings for homeowners who sell their property or remove their property as a STR once it has been registered with the Town of HHI for 2026. Annual STR administration fees will be invoiced as homeowners register as a STR with the Town of HHI. We anticipate completing the 2026 invoicing of annual STR administrative fees by July 15, 2026. Invoices will be due within 60 days of invoicing.
Leamington and Shelter Cove STRs will continue to be invoiced for Dunes Buggy transportation service. PDPOA will reference STR registration documentation provided by the Town of HHI to invoice Leamington and Shelter Cove STRs. The 2026 annual Dunes Buggy transportation fee applicable to Leamington and Shelter Cove STRs has increased to $165.00 reflecting our increase service period which started February 1, 2026. We anticipate completing the 2026 invoicing of Leamington and Shelter Cove STRs by June 30, 2026.
