Lagoon Management Update: Bi-Monthly Lowering

Following the most recent lagoon water quality analysis, it was recommended that we begin lowering lagoon levels on a bi-monthly schedule during the summer to support a healthy aquatic environment. According to our lagoon contractor, this practice is considered best during warmer months when conditions are more prone to algae and other water quality challenges.

Beginning this week, lagoon lowerings will take place every other Wednesday through September:

• July 16
• July 30
• August 13
• August 27
• September 10
• September 24

From October through April, we’ll return to a monthly drawdown schedule. This seasonal adjustment is intended to promote better circulation, limit nutrient buildup, and help maintain overall water quality throughout the system.
