GUIDELINES:

  1. Please submit all tile/pool colors and materials for review – Approval must be granted prior to permit.
  2. The backwash water leaving the pool equipment must leave the system through a rigid underground pipe. This pipe is then brought
to the surface in a manner guaranteed to keep the backwash on the owner’s property. Hardscape such as gravel or decorative stone
must be placed around the outlet to minimize soil erosion. The pipe is to be painted to blend with its surroundings. Pool backwash
water may not be allowed to empty directly or indirectly into the lagoon. Even a small amount of pool chemicals can have a
negative effect on the water quality in the lagoon.
  3. Additionally, the ARB must be notified when your company plans on draining a pool for repair work. The drainage must be slow,
over a period of time from 24-48 hours and all the water must be contained on the homeowner’s property. The goal is not to flood
the property or the areas surrounding the property at which the work will be completed.
  4. If a pool company is responsible for the discharge of pool water into the lagoon system, either the complete pool contents or by
backwashing the pool system, they are subject to the following penalties.
Violation #1– will carry a $1,000 fine, which must be paid within 24 hours, or the company will not be permitted into the
    Palmetto Dunes Resort.
Violation #2– will carry a $2000 fine, which must be paid within 24 hours, or the company will not be permitted into the
    Palmetto Dunes Resort.
Violation #3– will carry a $4,000 fine and a one (1) year suspension of business activity, including service work, within the
resort. This one year period will begin when the fine is paid. If the fine is not paid, the pool company’s suspension of business
