Make A Difference-A “FUN” Raising Week for Palmetto Dunes Cares

This year, Palmetto Dunes Cares needs the help of the community more than ever! The charity’s three biggest fundraisers of the year, Turtle Trot 5k, Turtle Talks, and Eat, Drink & Be Generous have all been greatly impacted by COVID-19. The Turtle Trots are being run virtually with much smaller attendance, and the Turtle Talks and Eat, Drink & Be Generous have been canceled.

Palmetto Dunes Cares volunteers have come together to plan “Make a Difference” FUN raising week. The week includes an exciting online auction and socially distanced beach party.

Online Auction
The “Make A Difference” online auction is currently looking for donations. Volunteers are looking for auction item donations from owners; ie, handcrafts (knitting, quilting, needlepoint, beading, artworks, etc.), gardening, organizational skills, photography, paintings, lagoon boat tour, or personal color consultation to mention a few ideas. They are also looking for auction donations from the local business community but are aware of the difficulties they have been facing.

If you would like to donate auction items, please email info@palmettodunescares.org or a member of the fundraising team.

Beach Event
The beach get-together is open to all owners in Palmetto Dunes, Leamington, and Shelter Cove to help raise money for Palmetto Dunes Cares’ charitable foundation.

The event will be held on Thursday, October 15 from 4:30-7:30pm at The Dunes House. Tickets are $50 per person and include a gourmet boxed dinner and access to play unlimited beach games. There will be live music and a cash bar will be available.

In order to maintain social distancing, six feet of separation will be required for all beach games. You can bring your own chairs to sit with groups of 10 or less, or request your group of 10 when making reservations.

Tickets will be available mid-September for purchase online at palmettodunescares.org. Only a limited number of tickets will be available.

If you would like to volunteer to help with the event, please email info@palmettodunescares.org or a member of the fundraising team. You can also make a difference by donating online at palmettodunescares.org.

Due to COVID-19, all funds raised will go to organizations who are directly working to assist the community with COVID-19 relief efforts.
