We Need Your Help: New Ad-Hoc Committees

The Board recently agreed to form two new ad-hoc committees – one focused on Safety & Security and the other on Communications.  We now need your help to bring these two committees to life; to shape the charter; to consider the possibilities; and to draft recommendations.  These are two wonderful opportunities for you to get more directly involved with your community to make Palmetto Dunes even better.

Safety & Security Committee
The Safety & Security Committee will be chaired by Board Director Erin Gaian and work with the Palmetto Dunes Security Team.  This Committee will be charged with developing a charter and recommendations for improvements to enhance the overall safety and security for PD owners and guests.

We are looking for volunteers willing to dedicate the time and focus needed to dive deep into the overall current status of our safety and security and recommend paths forward. Topics encompassed in this will include but not be limited to: community access, bicycles and pedestrians, crime, traffic laws, and much more.

All backgrounds with a vested interest in improving the overall safety and security of PD are welcome, however, backgrounds in security, law enforcement, safety, city and community planning and infrastructure are highly encouraged to get involved.

This is a pivotal time for PD in our growth and to tackle these important topics. All members of the Safety & Security Committee are required to be an owner in good standing with the POA.

If you would like to join the Safety & Security Committee, please send an email to erin@gaian.net by August 1, 2021 indicating your interest.
Communications Committee
The Communications Committee will be chaired by Board Director Sean Moore and work closely with the association’s Director of Communications, Elizabeth Simpson.

The Communications Committee will support and supplement the work of the Department of Communications, provide input to ongoing communication efforts within the community, and provide the Board of Directors with recommendations on how we can make our communication approach the best it can be.

All backgrounds with a vested interest in improving PD are welcome, however, backgrounds in writing/communication skills, social media, websites, branding and marketing are a plus.

If you have considered joining a committee in the past, this might be the ideal opportunity for you. This is an important, hands-on role and will require multiple days of your time throughout the course of the year. All members of the Communications Committee are required to be an owner in good standing with the POA.

If you are interested in joining the Communications Committee or would like more information, please send an email to seanpatrickmoore@gmail.com by August 1, 2021.
