Short-Term Rentals Registration Open

Short-Term Rentals Registration is Open

As we continue to protect your community and seek the balance that is expected between owners who rent their Palmetto Dunes property and those who reside here, we are excited to inform you that we have made progress in safeguarding our community by developing short-term rental policies that we believe are equitable for everyone.

As you may be aware, the Palmetto Dunes Board of Directors and management team have been working diligently for the past two years to develop these policies in order to help stabilize the interests of rental properties and non-rental properties. As a result of this process, we are proud to introduce the Palmetto Dunes Short-Term Rental Policies, Procedures and Guidelines (STR PPG’s). If you have not viewed this document, please visit www.pdpoa.org/str.

As required by the STR PPG’s, the first step in renting your property on the short-term rental market is to complete a brief electronic registration form that will be available on April 1, 2021. The registration is completely free and can be quickly completed by visiting www.pdpoa.org/str. All information provided during the registration process will remain confidential and is exclusively used to help our staff contact you and/or your designated property manager in the event of an emergency or when other issues may arise that require your assistance. As in the past, we will do our best to resolve issues without your assistance.

Owners who rent their property on the short-term rental market are required to complete the process within 30 days. Please note that you will need your property owner PIN number to complete the registration.

Once we have received and reviewed your registration, you will be notified via email of the application status. While this process should not take long, we kindly ask that you allow 5 business days for our team to review your registration form and respond.

To further assist our staff with managing short-term rentals, as well as offer a convenient way for owners to report non-emergency short-term rental concerns and complaints, a 24/7 Hotline has been established. This should only be used for non-emergencies and all messages will be submitted to the security department for review. To use the hotline, please call 843-326-0214. Should you need to report other non-emergency matters to the security department, please call 843-785-1120. In the event of an emergency, please call 911.

To better accommodate your guests during their visit to Palmetto Dunes, we kindly ask that you share a brief video that will provide helpful information regarding our community. The link for the video is www.WelcomeToPalmettoDunes.com. Also, at no charge to you and to further help with sharing important information about Palmetto Dunes, we have created an attractive Community Standards sign that is wrapped in an acrylic stand and can be conveniently placed on a countertop inside your home. The sign measures approximately 8 ½ x 11. We kindly ask that you pick up your sign from our office and place it in a conspicuous location for your guests. You can also download the one-page sign from our website at www.pdpoa.org/str and email it to your guests.

Through these short-term rental initiatives, it is our goal to greatly improve your guests experience in Palmetto Dunes while balancing the needs of other guests and property owners alike. In the meantime, should you have any questions regarding this process, please visit www.pdpoa.org/str.
